Working Principle Field instrument signals connect to screw terminals of IOTA base. Signals pass through surge protection and conditioning circuit, then transmit to controller and I/O modules via internal backplane bus. The IOTA base distributes backplane communication and power signals to each rack slot. Diagnostic circuit monitors field wiring status continuously and sends wiring fault alarm to controller.
Installation Requirements Mount IOTA base firmly inside controller rack Tighten all field wiring terminals with specified torque Complete cabinet protective grounding and verify grounding resistance Separate analog signal cables, discrete signal cables and high-power cables Verify hardware version compatibility with C200 controller firmware
Precautions for Use Disconnect field power before field wiring modification Inspect terminal screw tightness during regular cabinet maintenance Do not connect high voltage signal to signal terminals Replace surge protection components when repeated channel surge alarms occur Confirm part number revision before spare part replacement
