Description
Honeywell 51304485-100
Technical Specifications AC input wide voltage range; regulated DC output matched to Honeywell rack bus; built-in overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection; parallel redundant capability; front panel power and fault status indicators; rack plug-in construction.
Functional Features Converts alternating current from the facility electrical distribution system into clean, stable DC power for the DCS rack backplane. Supports parallel redundant operation with identical modules for uninterrupted power delivery. Activates internal protection circuits to shut down output during overload, short circuit or overheating conditions. Reports power supply health and fault conditions to the DCS diagnostic system. Provides status relay contacts for remote power fault annunciation.
Application Scenarios Critical main control racks in petrochemical plants, boiler DCS cabinets, refinery control systems and any Honeywell control rack requiring uninterrupted redundant power.
Performance Parameters Tight DC output voltage regulation; low output ripple and noise; fast protection response during overload events; stable output power across the rated ambient temperature range.
Material Composition Internal power circuit board is FR-4 high-power PCB; power switching semiconductors and transformers meet industrial standards; output bus connector contacts are gold-plated; module casing is coated metal alloy for heat dissipation.
Structural Characteristics Vertical plug-in module for Honeywell DCS racks; front panel with AC input status, DC output status and fault LEDs; rear power bus connector mating with the rack backplane; integrated heat sink fins for passive thermal dissipation.
Working Principle AC mains power enters the module and passes through input filtering and rectification circuits. Switching power conversion circuitry generates tightly regulated DC output for the rack backplane. When configured in redundant pairs, load current automatically shares between active modules. Internal monitoring circuits continuously track output voltage, current and internal temperature and trigger protection shutdown when limits are exceeded.
Installation Requirements Insert the module into the designated power slot of the Honeywell DCS rack. Connect the AC input wiring to the module input terminals following electrical codes. Configure current sharing parameters for redundant pairs. Verify DC bus voltage levels after power application before loading the rack with I/O modules.
Precautions for Use Respect the total power rating of the module and do not exceed the rack load capacity. Maintain airflow clearance around the module heat sinks. Use the same model and revision level for redundant paired power supplies.
