Functional Features It provides group-based galvanic isolation for RTD input channels. It supports automatic lead resistance compensation for 3-wire and 4-wire RTD wiring. It executes sensor wire break and short circuit detection and fault alarm. It supports hot swap operation. It stores sensor type selection, wiring mode and filter parameters in non-volatile memory. It uploads real-time temperature value and channel fault status to the DCS system. It integrates low-pass filter to suppress high-frequency industrial noise.
Application Scenarios Water supply and return temperature monitoring for boiler and heat network systems. Bearing temperature measurement for large pump, compressor and fan equipment. Low-medium temperature monitoring for storage tank, pipeline and heat exchanger. Replacement and spare stocking for aging RTD input cards in legacy TPS UCN racks.

Material Composition PCB Substrate: High-TG flame-retardant FR-4 multi-layer glass fiber board, analog and digital circuit partition layout High-resolution ADC conversion chip Constant current excitation source components RTD conversion and compensation FPGA logic chip Group isolation optocoupler array Gold-plated back edge fingers Gold-plated field terminal block contacts Cold-rolled steel front panel with electrostatic spray coating
Structural Features Standard European pluggable card structure, installed in dedicated RTD analog I/O slot of UCN I/O rack. Front panel is equipped with run indicator light, group fault indicator lights and general fault indicator light. Field wiring terminals are arranged on the side panel, marked for 2-wire, 3-wire and 4-wire connection. Resistance signal traces adopt shielding layout to reduce external electromagnetic interference. Each group of 4 channels is equipped with independent isolation barrier.
Working Principle Constant excitation current flows through field RTD sensor and lead wires. The resistance value of RTD sensor changes with temperature and generates corresponding voltage signal. The isolation circuit separates field sensor loop and internal logic circuit. The signal conditioning circuit filters noise and amplifies voltage signal. The high-resolution ADC chip converts analog voltage signal into digital value. The FPGA chip calculates sensor resistance, executes lead resistance compensation and RTD curve conversion, converts raw resistance data into standard temperature engineering value. It sends temperature data and channel fault information to the rack IOP processor through backplane bus. It records wire break and short circuit fault events with time stamp.
Installation Requirements Insert the module vertically into the dedicated RTD analog I/O slot of UCN rack and tighten front panel fixing screws. Connect RTD sensor wires to the corresponding terminal ports following selected wiring mode marking. Use matched RTD copper extension wire for field wiring. Ground the shielding layer at the module side only. Download sensor type, wiring mode and filter parameters from Control Builder software after power on. Verify temperature reading accuracy and wire break alarm function on the HPM diagnostic screen.
Precautions Release static electricity before plugging the module to protect high-precision analog conversion circuit. Do not connect thermocouple millivolt signals or 4-20mA current signals to RTD input channels. Long 2-wire RTD wiring brings large lead resistance error, 3-wire or 4-wire wiring is recommended for high precision requirement. Loose terminal contacts lead to resistance jumping and temperature reading fluctuation. Do not apply external voltage to RTD terminals.
