Material Composition PCB Substrate: Low-loss high-frequency FR-4 multi-layer board with 50Ω controlled impedance trace layout LCN Manchester codec FPGA chip RF coaxial transceiver chip Signal equalization and impedance matching components Gold-plated BNC coaxial connectors Gold-plated back edge fingers Aluminum alloy front panel with anodized anti-oxidation treatment
Structural Features Standard European pluggable card structure, installed in dedicated LCN transceiver slot of LCN node rack. Front panel is equipped with run indicator light, fault indicator light, LCN A link indicator light and LCN B link indicator light. Two groups of BNC connectors are arranged on the side panel for redundant LCN A/B bus wiring. RF signal area is covered by independent metal shielding cover to isolate digital logic noise. High-speed transceiver chips are equipped with dedicated heat dissipation channels.
Working Principle When transmitting data, the module receives parallel data frames from node processor through backplane bus. The FPGA chip executes Manchester encoding and sends encoded signal to RF drive circuit. The RF circuit converts digital signal into standard LCN coaxial bus signal and transmits signal to LCN bus via BNC connector. When receiving data, the RF circuit captures analog signal from LCN coaxial bus. The signal conditioning circuit equalizes and amplifies weak signal. The FPGA chip executes Manchester decoding and CRC verification, converts valid frame into parallel data and sends data to node processor. It continuously monitors signal quality of redundant links and switches active receiving link automatically when signal quality drops below threshold. It records communication error events and uploads alarm information to LCN diagnostic system.
Installation Requirements Insert the module vertically into the dedicated LCN transceiver slot of LCN node rack and tighten fixing screws. Use 50Ω dedicated RF coaxial cables for LCN A/B wiring. Install 50Ω terminal resistors at the physical ends of LCN trunk bus. Redundant LCN A/B cables shall be laid in separate cable trays. After power on, check link status and error count on the LCN network diagnostic page.
Precautions Release static electricity before plugging the module to protect RF transceiver and FPGA chips. BNC connector oxidation and cable extrusion lead to signal attenuation and intermittent communication dropout. Do not bend coaxial cable with radius smaller than specification limit. Dust and moisture accumulation on BNC ports degrade signal transmission quality. Improper terminal resistor installation causes bus reflection and massive frame error.
