Material Composition PCB Substrate: High-TG FR-4 multi-layer board with controlled impedance differential trace layout I/O link codec FPGA chip Differential signal transceiver and impedance matching components Gold-plated back edge fingers Gold-plated terminal block contacts for link cable Cold-rolled steel front panel with electrostatic spray coating
Structural Features Standard European pluggable card structure, installed in dedicated I/O link interface slot of HPM rack. Front panel is equipped with run indicator light, link active indicator light and link fault indicator light. Differential signal wiring terminals are arranged on the side panel for shielded twisted pair cable connection. High-speed differential signal area adopts independent metal shielding layer to suppress electromagnetic interference. Logic circuit and link signal circuit maintain separate routing to reduce cross crosstalk.
Working Principle When transmitting data, the module receives command frames from HPM main processor through backplane bus. The FPGA chip executes Manchester encoding and sends encoded differential signal to remote I/O racks via shielded twisted pair cable. When receiving data, the differential transceiver circuit captures signal from I/O link bus. The signal conditioning circuit equalizes and amplifies weak signal. The FPGA chip executes decoding and CRC verification, converts valid frame into parallel data and sends data back to HPM processor. It continuously monitors link signal quality and triggers retransmission when frame error is detected. It records communication error events and uploads alarm information to HPM diagnostic system.
Installation Requirements Insert the module vertically into the dedicated I/O link interface slot of HPM rack and tighten fixing screws. Use factory specified shielded twisted pair cable for I/O link wiring. Ground the shielding layer at HPM rack side only. Install terminal resistors at both ends of the I/O link trunk cable. After power on, check link status and error count on the HPM I/O link diagnostic page.
Precautions Release static electricity before plugging the module to protect differential transceiver and FPGA chips. Do not use ordinary unshielded twisted pair cable for I/O link wiring. Do not lay I/O link cable in the same cable tray with high-power AC cables. Loose terminal contacts cause intermittent communication dropout and massive frame error. The total length of I/O link cable cannot exceed 1200 meters.
