Material Composition Metal shielded power enclosure High-frequency switching transformer Rectifier bridge and filter capacitor bank Optocoupler feedback isolation circuit Power semiconductor switching devices Aluminum heat sink for power components
Structural Features Standard rack plug-in form factor, installs in dedicated power slots in the process manager cabinet. Front panel houses AC power switch, status LEDs and fault alarm contact terminals. Metal enclosure integrates cooling fins for power component heat dissipation. Internal isolation barrier separates AC high-voltage side and DC low-voltage side. Anti-keying rail prevents insertion into non-power slots.
Working Principle AC input passes through the EMI filter and rectifier circuit, converting to high-voltage DC. The high-frequency switching circuit chops DC into high-frequency AC for transformer isolation. Secondary side rectification and filtering produce the four regulated DC output rails. The feedback circuit continuously samples output voltage, adjusting switching duty cycle to maintain output accuracy. When two modules run in parallel, the current sharing circuit balances output current between units. Protection circuits monitor output voltage, current and internal temperature; parameters exceeding thresholds trigger output shutdown and fault alarm.
Installation Requirements Install two redundant power modules in adjacent dedicated slots. Connect AC input wiring securely, ground the metal enclosure to cabinet protective ground. Connect output power rails to the process manager backplane. Measure output voltages after power-up, confirm all rails meet rated values. Connect current-sharing communication wires between redundant modules.
Usage Notes Total mainframe load must not exceed the 20 A rating of a single 5 V rail; overload triggers over-temperature protection. Never block module ventilation openings with cabling; poor ventilation shortens supply service life. Never short-circuit output terminals; short circuit destroys power semiconductors. Hot-swapping a faulty module requires confirming the redundant unit carries full load without alarm.
