Material Composition Multilayer FR4 UL94 V0 PCB, 16-bit high precision ADC chip, multi-channel instrumentation amplifier, optocoupler isolation devices, precision sampling resistor array, TVS surge suppression diodes, tantalum and ceramic filter capacitors, gold-plated backplane edge connector, flame retardant plastic front panel.
Structural Features Standard eurocard plug-in form factor compatible with IPC620 rack slot. Rear gold edge connector mates with IPC620 backplane I/O Link bus. Internal isolation barrier separates field analog signal area and internal logic circuit area. Front panel LED array displays module health and communication status. Anti-keying notch prevents reversed insertion into digital I/O slot. Analog signal traces adopt shielded guard trace layout to reduce measurement drift.
Working Principle Field analog signal enters the corresponding channel conditioning circuit. According to software configuration, the circuit switches to current sampling, voltage divider or RTD constant current excitation mode. Conditioned analog signal passes through low-pass filter and enters 16-bit ADC for digital conversion. Onboard FPGA reads digital value, executes engineering unit scaling and fault judgment, packs measurement value and diagnostic flag into I/O Link frame, and transmits to IPC620 CPU. Short circuit of field loop triggers hardware current limiting protection of the channel.
Installation Requirements Field instrument wiring uses twisted shielded pair cable, single point shield grounding inside control cabinet. Different signal types cannot share the same cable bundle in cable tray. Configure signal type, range and filter time for each channel in IPC programming software. Verify loop supply voltage output with multimeter before connecting two-wire transmitters. Confirm firmware version supports RTD and millivolt function before commissioning.
Usage Notes Do not input AC voltage signal to analog input terminals. RTD measurement channel cannot be connected with 4-20mA transmitter without configuration modification. Shield double-point grounding will introduce common mode noise and measurement error. Precision sampling resistors and excitation current resistors cannot be replaced with ordinary resistors.
