Honeywell 620-2090

Product Introduction This high-current output terminal board works with IPC620 solid state power output modules, routing up to 5 A per channel for heavy field loads including large solenoid valves, heating elements and small motor loads. It integrates heavy-duty copper bus bars, overcurrent sensing and heat dissipation structure to solve thermal management for high-current switching applications.

Functional Features Tin-plated copper bus bar carries high current, reduces trace temperature rise under full load. Per-channel overcurrent sensing resistor works with upstream module to trigger fast short circuit protection. TVS surge protection components suppress voltage spikes from inductive load disconnection. Cage clamp terminals hold large gauge stranded cables securely, no wire pull-out. Channel silk-screen labels align one-to-one with upstream solid state output card channels. Pre-drilled mounting holes allow addition of external heat sinks for extended operation.

Application Scenarios Large solenoid valve and pneumatic valve drive circuit termination Electric heating strip and heat tracing switch control circuits Small conveyor and agitator motor start-stop drive wiring Cabinet high-current load output terminal replacement for aging IPC620 systems Skid-mounted equipment high-current control loop wiring

Material Composition High thermal conductivity FR4 PCB substrate Tin-plated pure copper heat dissipation bus bar Heavy current cage clamp screw terminals TVS transient suppression diodes, manganese-copper current sense resistors Flame retardant nylon terminal guard covers Powder-coated steel mounting bracket

Structural Features Thick PCB construction to carry high current loads. Large cage clamp terminals arranged on the front face, with copper bus bar directly underneath. Rear flat cable connector mates to upstream solid state output module. Nylon insulating guard installed above terminals, prevents accidental contact with live conductors. Mounting holes allow direct screw fixation to cabinet mounting rail.

Working Principle Switch control signals from upstream solid state module travel via flat cable to this board, passing through current sense resistor and copper bus bar to external field loads. The manganese-copper sense resistor continuously monitors loop current, feeding data back to the upstream module for overcurrent protection. TVS components absorb voltage spikes from load disconnection. The thick copper bus bar spreads heat across a larger area, reducing operating temperature during continuous high-current operation.

Installation Requirements Use cable gauge matched to 5 A per-channel rating, terminate large gauge cables in cage clamp terminals. Perform pull test on each terminated cable, confirm no wire loosening. Install the board in a well-ventilated position, keep bus bar area unobstructed by cabling. Route overcurrent sense wires strictly per silk-screen marking to the upstream module. Install insulating guard covers over high-voltage terminal zones.

Usage Notes Never exceed 5 A continuous per-channel rating, overload will cause bus bar overheating and fire risk. Always install freewheeling diodes across inductive 24 V DC loads to suppress reverse EMF. Inspect terminal temperature quarterly under full load, re-tighten terminals if discoloration appears. Do not short-circuit the sense resistor, this disables overcurrent protection.
