Description
Honeywell 627-7021
Technical Specifications
- Cable length: 2 meters
- Connector type: Dual male DB25 connectors with locking screws
- Cable construction: Shielded twisted pair
- Maximum supported baud rate: 9600 bps
- Operating temperature: 0 °C to +60 °C
- Shield grounding: Single-point shield connection at the cabinet-side connector
Functional Features Double-layer shield structure suppresses industrial electromagnetic interference, eliminates communication packet loss caused by on-site noise. Connectors include locking screws, remain secured during moving on-site debugging. Flexible, abrasion-resistant cable jacket, withstands repeated bending without conductor breakage. Connector orientation markers printed on each end, prevents reversed connection that damages programming ports. Shield grounding blocks common-mode noise introduced by ground loop potentials.
Application Scenarios On-site programming connection between handheld programmer and rack adapter Temporary wiring for legacy 621 system program modification and monitoring Replacement connection cable for programming device accessory kits
Performance Parameters
- Cable characteristic impedance: 120 Ω
- Shield coverage: 90% braided coverage
- Conductor gauge: 24 AWG
- Maximum error-free transmission distance: 5 meters
- Connector mating life: 500 cycles
Material Composition Double-shielded twisted pair copper conductor PVC oil-resistant, flexible cable jacket Gold-plated DB25 metal connectors Locking screws Rubber strain relief boots at cable exit points
Structural Features Flexible long cable with fixed DB25 metal connectors on both ends. Strain relief boots protect the cable exit point from conductor breakage during repeated bending. Direction markers printed on connectors to prevent reversed insertion. Metal connector housing tied directly to the cable shield for reliable grounding.
Working Principle Internal twisted pair wires transmit RS232 serial transmit and receive signals. The outer double-layer shield diverts field electromagnetic interference to ground, preventing noise from coupling into the signal pair and causing data bit errors. Locking connectors maintain reliable contact during use, the shield single-point ground blocks ground loop common-mode voltage.
Installation Requirements Align connectors to match orientation marks, insert fully and tighten locking screws. Route serial cable separately from power cable and VFD wiring trays. Grip connectors when disconnecting, never pull directly on the cable jacket. Confirm shield grounding at the cabinet side for maximum noise rejection.
Usage Notes Never bend the cable to radius smaller than 5 cm, this causes internal conductor breakage. Bent connector pins cause communication loss, never force connector insertion. Replace the cable when the outer jacket is damaged and internal shield becomes exposed. Never extend this dedicated cable length; longer runs cause signal attenuation and communication failure.
