Description
Honeywell CC-MCAR01
Technical Specifications Compatible with Honeywell proprietary flash media cards Supports dual redundant media card slots Communication interface connects to controller backplane bus Operating temperature 0℃ to 60℃ Storage temperature -40℃ to 85℃ Humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing Supports automatic data synchronization between primary and standby media cards Supports hot swap of individual media card
Functional Features It hosts two flash media cards for redundant storage of controller configuration and control application. It executes automatic real-time data synchronization between primary and standby media storage. It enables hot removal and replacement of a failed media card while the controller remains online. It reports media card health status, read/write faults and synchronization errors to Experion HMI. It provides hardware write protection mechanism for critical controller configuration data.
Application Scenarios Redundant configuration storage adapter for critical C300 controllers in petrochemical main process units Redundant media adapter for power plant unit master controllers Redundant storage for natural gas pipeline control system controllers Media card redundancy for fine chemical batch control C300 controllers Spare adapter for Experion PKS system upgrade and maintenance projects
Performance Parameters Data synchronization speed matches controller backplane bandwidth Media card fault detection completes within 500ms Redundant switchover of storage does not interrupt controller control execution
Material Composition Adapter PCB uses multi-layer FR4 flame retardant substrate with G3 conformal coating Media card sockets use gold-plated contact terminals Backplane connector contacts are gold plated Front panel is flame retardant gray PC plastic with status LEDs Signal processing chips are industrial grade wide-temperature components
Structural Characteristics Single-slot vertical plug-in card for C300 controller rack Front panel has two media card slots and LED indicators for card power, access, synchronization and fault status Elastic locking latches are fitted on both sides for rack mounting Fool-proof keying prevents installation into non-controller slots Passive convection heat dissipation design
Working Principle The adapter communicates with the C300 controller via rack backplane bus. It maintains one media card as primary storage and the second as standby redundant copy. All controller configuration changes, log data and firmware images are written simultaneously or synchronized automatically to both cards. When the primary media card fails, the adapter switches storage access to the standby card transparently to the controller. Fault status is transmitted to the controller for system alarm reporting.
Installation Requirements Insert CC-MCAR01 into dedicated media adapter slot of C300 controller rack Insert matched Honeywell media cards into the front slots after rack power is stable Maintain clear airflow around the card slot Ensure cabinet protective ground connection is reliable with grounding resistance ≤4Ω
Usage Notes Only Honeywell qualified proprietary media cards can be used in this adapter Do not extract a media card while data access LED is active Confirm synchronization status is healthy before removing either redundant media card Back up controller configuration to external workstation before media card replacement
