Functional Features It supports two independent H1 segments with separate link scheduler. Each segment supports up to 16 fieldbus smart devices. It provides isolated signal path and overcurrent protection for each H1 channel. It uploads fieldbus process value, device status and diagnostic fault code to C300 controller and Experion PKS. It supports remote parameter configuration and calibration of fieldbus transmitters and valve positioners from engineering workstation. It supports hot swap replacement without shutting down I/O rack. It has front panel LED indicators for power, segment communication and fault status. It detects bus short circuit, overload, wiring breakage and device offline fault. It supports fieldbus segment redundancy and fault tolerant network configuration.
Application Scenarios Petrochemical plant dual segment FOUNDATION Fieldbus instrument integration Chemical plant smart valve positioner and field transmitter DCS interface Refinery process unit fieldbus centralized monitoring Natural gas plant digital field instrument control system Large batch process plant fieldbus device management system

Material Composition FR4 conformal coated multilayer flame retardant PCB Dual fieldbus communication controller chips Dual isolation transformers for two H1 channels Independent DC-DC isolation power circuit Overcurrent and short circuit protection components Gold plated edge connector for rack backplane Metal front panel with extraction handle and LED indicators Dual removable terminal blocks for two H1 segments
Structural Features Standard Series C C300 rack plug-in module form factor. Front panel carries two independent fieldbus terminal blocks and group LED indicators plus extraction handle. Rear gold plated edge connector mates with rack backplane power and I/O bus. Internal circuit provides complete electrical isolation between two H1 segments and between fieldbus side and backplane logic circuit. Anti-key notch prevents reverse insertion into rack slot. Locking clip secures module firmly after installation. Independent current limiting circuit protects each channel from short circuit damage.
Working Principle After power on, module initializes two independent H1 link schedulers. Each segment communicates with connected fieldbus instruments at 31.25 kbps. It collects cyclic process data, device status and diagnostic information from fieldbus devices. It packages fieldbus data and transmits to C300 controller via backplane bus. It receives output command and parameter download command from C300 controller and sends to target fieldbus device. When short circuit or overload is detected on one H1 segment, protection circuit cuts off that channel while the other segment continues normal operation. Fault alarm is uploaded to Experion operator station.
Installation Requirements Wear anti-static wrist strap before inserting module into vacant rack slot. Lock module buckle after alignment. Connect shielded twisted pair fieldbus cable to corresponding H1 terminal block. Install terminator resistor at both ends of each H1 segment. Configure fieldbus segment parameters and device tag in Experion engineering workstation. Power on rack and verify online status of fieldbus instruments. Separate fieldbus cable from high voltage AC power cable in wiring duct.
Usage Notes Each H1 segment needs two terminator resistors at cable ends. Do not mix different fieldbus segments on one terminal. Keep shield wire single point grounding. Check segment load current before adding new field instrument. Do not apply external voltage to H1 terminals.
