Description
Honeywell DC-TUIO31
Technical Specifications 32 user-configurable channels supporting analogue input, analogue output, digital input, digital output, pulse and SOE signals; nominal 24 V DC field supply; galvanic isolation rated 1500 V AC/DC between channels and power circuits; 9-inch rack form factor; operating temperature -40 °C to +70 °C; passive termination assembly powered by the matched UIO-2 module; screw-type terminal blocks accepting screened instrument cables.
Functional Features Open-wire detection for 4-20 mA analogue loops; per-channel overvoltage and surge suppression; configurable channel signal type via DCS engineering tool; cross-talk shielding for high-noise control cabinets; channel fault diagnostics transmitted to Experion HMI; HART signal pass-through capability for smart field transmitters.
Application Scenarios Petrochemical plant DCS control cabinets, power plant auxiliary process control, pulp and paper mill Experion PKS systems, water treatment large-scale distributed control racks.
Material Composition Flame-retardant fibreglass PCB; metal shielding frame; copper alloy screw terminal blocks; surface-mount surge suppression diodes and isolation components; plastic locking connectors for mating with UIO-2 module.
Structural Characteristics Horizontal rack plug-in termination assembly; front-side terminal blocks for field instrument wiring; rear high-density connector interfacing to UIO-2 electronic module; internal signal ground isolation barrier between field side and DCS backplane side.
Working Principle Field instrument signals land on the terminal blocks of DC-TUIO31. Protection and filtering circuits clean incoming signals and route them to the UIO-2 module for analogue-to-digital conversion. Output commands from UIO-2 travel back through the termination board to final control elements such as valves and solenoids. The board continuously monitors loop integrity and reports wiring faults.
Installation Requirements Mount the assembly on de-energised C300 carrier rack; torque terminal block screws to specified value; use shielded twisted pair for analogue instrument wiring; separate high-voltage power cables from IOTA field wiring; configure channel signal types in Experion engineering station after hardware installation.
Operation Notes Disable relevant channels before field instrument loop maintenance; inspect terminals for corrosion in humid plant environments; verify HART communication after smart transmitter wiring; replace the assembly immediately if sustained channel short-circuit damage occurs.
