Honeywell FC-PSU-UNI2450CCV2

Product Introduction FC-PSU-UNI2450CCV2 is the upgraded conformal coated universal power supply module dedicated for Honeywell Safety Manager and Fail Safe Control SIS racks. It converts wide-range AC input into stable 24VDC power rail for safety controller, I/O modules and field termination assemblies. The conformal acrylic coating protects internal circuit boards against corrosive gas, salt mist, high humidity and dust in offshore, chemical and coastal industrial environments. It supports redundant parallel operation to eliminate single point of failure for safety instrumented loops. It integrates built-in circuit monitoring and fault reporting function to SIS diagnostic bus.

Functional Features It supports hot swap replacement without powering down the whole safety rack. It enables parallel redundant configuration with identical FC-PSU-UNI2450 series units. It implements overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit and overtemperature protection. It continuously monitors output voltage, internal temperature and input power status. It sends fault alarm signal to Safety Manager controller via backplane diagnostic channel. It provides independent LED indicators for power normal, fault and redundant status. It has inrush current limiting circuit to suppress surge when rack powers on. It maintains stable 24VDC output under ±10% input voltage fluctuation.

Application Scenarios Petrochemical SIS safety instrumented system rack power supply Offshore oil and gas platform safety control cabinet power Refinery emergency shutdown system power backup Chemical plant toxic and flammable process safety control Natural gas compressor station ESD system power supply Coastal corrosive environment SIS spare part replacement

Structural Features Standard plug-in rack module form factor matching Safety Manager rack. Front panel integrates power, fault and redundancy status LED indicators. Side anti-key notch prevents reverse insertion and wrong model mating. Rear gold finger contacts connect to rack power backplane. Internal circuit layout separates high-voltage input zone and low-voltage 24VDC output zone. Built-in cooling air channel for passive heat dissipation. Locking clip secures module firmly against rack vibration.

Working Principle AC mains input passes through EMI filter and rectifier circuit. The switching conversion circuit transforms high voltage DC into isolated 24VDC low voltage output. Voltage sampling feedback circuit adjusts PWM duty cycle to keep constant output voltage. The monitoring circuit tracks output voltage, current and internal temperature. When protection threshold is triggered, the circuit cuts off output and activates fault alarm. In redundant parallel mode, two power modules share load equally. If one unit fails, the remaining unit bears full load continuously without interruption.

Installation Requirements Cut off rack main power before inserting the power module. Align anti-misalignment notch and insert into vacant SIS rack slot, lock the buckle. Connect AC input wiring to the designated terminal block on front panel. Configure redundant power pair parameters in Safety Manager engineering software. Power on the rack and verify LED status and output voltage reading. Separate AC input cable from low voltage signal cable in wiring duct. Keep sufficient clearance around module for air circulation.

Usage Notes Only identical FC-PSU-UNI2450 series modules can be paired for redundant operation. Do not remove the conformal coating layer on PCB surface. Static protection wrist strap must be worn during module replacement. Do not overload the output beyond rated 450W power limit. Regularly check terminal screw tightness under continuous vibration environment. Do not use this module for non-SIS common DCS rack without Honeywell engineering approval.
