Structural Characteristics

  • Standard vertical single-slot rack module for Safety Manager rack installation.
  • Front panel fitted with LED indicators for module and channel diagnostic state.
  • Rear gold-plated edge connector inserts into rack safety backplane bus.
  • Each channel has independent sinking circuit and diagnostic circuit.
  • Internal isolation barrier separates field low-side circuit and safety logic circuit.
  • Passive heat dissipation structure without fan components.

Working Principle Field safety contacts connect to 24VDC positive power. When contact closes, current flows through contact and into the sinking input channel of FC-SDIL-1608. The module detects current existence and identifies contact closed state. Diagnostic circuit monitors loop impedance continuously. Wire break or short circuit changes loop impedance and triggers fault detection. Valid digital signal status is sent to safety CPU. Fault event is latched and reported to safety controller when abnormal condition is detected.

Installation Requirements

  • Install FC-SDIL-1608 module into designated slot of Safety Manager rack.
  • Use shielded twisted pair cable for field contact wiring.
  • Separate safety signal cables from high power motor and power cables.
  • Complete protective earth connection for rack and cabinet.
  • Confirm field circuit is common positive power configuration.
  • Perform channel on-off test and fault simulation after wiring completion.
  • Check backplane connector contact before power energization.

Usage Notes

  • Follow official operation procedure for hot swap maintenance.
  • Do not connect non-sinking type signal sources to input terminals.
  • Keep cabinet dry and free of corrosive gas and conductive dust.
  • Execute periodic SIL proof test for all input channels.
  • Disconnect field wiring before high voltage insulation resistance test.
  • Use anti-static protection when handling spare modules.
  • Replace module immediately when permanent hardware fault occurs.
