Honeywell TC-FXX102

Product Introduction This adapter board mounts in the leftmost slot of the C200 I/O expansion rack, extending main rack 5 V DC and 24 V DC power plus I/O bus signals to the expansion rack. It provides power and communication channels for expansion rack I/O modules, integrating overcurrent protection and signal shaping circuitry for long-distance rack extension applications.

Description

Honeywell TC-FXX102

Technical Specifications

  • Compatible rack: C200 standard I/O expansion rack
  • Power output: 5 V DC backplane supply, 24 V DC field power distribution
  • Maximum bus extension distance: 5 meters expansion cable
  • On-board protection: Independent resettable fuse for each power circuit
  • Supply power: Drawn from main cabinet expansion interface
  • Operating temperature: 0 °C to +60 °C

Functional Features Transparent bus extension, the main controller automatically recognizes expansion rack modules without additional configuration. On-board signal shaping circuit compensates for signal attenuation over long cable runs. Independent overcurrent protection per power circuit, expansion rack short circuit does not affect main cabinet power supply. On-board LEDs indicate expansion link connection and power output status. Hot swap support, faulty board replacement does not disrupt main system operation.

Application Scenarios C200 system I/O point expansion Communication connection for separate main and field I/O cabinet compartments Spare part replacement for expansion rack board faults Rack communication assembly for control system capacity expansion retrofits

Performance Parameters

  • Bus delay: ≤2 ms
  • 5 V DC bus current rating: 15 A continuous
  • Fault detection response: ≤100 ms

Material Composition FR4 PCB substrate Bus signal buffer chip Resettable fuse array Gold-plated expansion connector Gold-plated backplane edge fingers Metal mounting bracket

Structural Features Standard Eurocard dimensions, inserts into the dedicated leftmost expansion rack slot. Side expansion cable interface connects to main cabinet. Front panel LEDs indicate link and power status. Power traces use wide copper area, reduces temperature rise under high current load.

Working Principle The main cabinet transmits I/O bus signals and power to the adapter board via expansion cable. On-board signal buffer and shaping circuit restores signals distorted by long-distance transmission, then distributes signals through the backplane to all I/O modules in the expansion rack. On-board resettable fuses monitor output current on each power circuit; expansion rack load short circuit triggers automatic current limiting protection. Return I/O data from expansion modules is packaged by the board and sent back to the main controller.

Installation Requirements Install the board in the dedicated leftmost expansion rack slot. Plug dedicated expansion cables between main unit and board, lock the connector clips. Check LED status after power-up, confirm main unit detects all expansion I/O modules. Route expansion cables separately from high-power cabling.

Usage Notes Expansion cable length must not exceed 5 meters; longer runs cause signal distortion and communication failure. Hot-swapping expansion cables causes the main unit to drop the rack, triggering process alarms. When the interface board fails, the entire expansion rack goes offline; after replacement, re-verify all I/O point status.
