Working Principle The motor operates as a permanent magnet synchronous machine. Three-phase sinusoidal current from a servo drive creates a rotating magnetic field in the stator windings. This field interacts with neodymium permanent magnets on the rotor, producing continuous electromagnetic torque. The built-in resolver provides absolute rotor position feedback to the drive for electronic commutation and closed-loop speed or position control.
Installation Requirements
- Mount using IEC standard flange with J6 fit tolerance
- Use flexible coupling with misalignment tolerance less than 0.1 millimeters angular and 0.05 millimeters parallel
- Connect to compatible Kollmorgen servo drive with appropriate cable shielding
- Ensure connector sealing in washdown or dusty environments
