Working Principle The option card interfaces between the servo drive’s internal control processor and the external PROFIBUS network. Cyclic data exchange via DP-V0 enables real-time transfer of motion setpoints and status words at the network scan rate. Acyclic DP-V1 services allow parameter read and write operations for drive configuration, tuning adjustments, and detailed fault diagnostics. The internal backplane connection draws power from the host drive, eliminating the need for external power supplies.
Installation Requirements
- Install into available Option Slot 1 or Slot 2 on compatible SERVOSTAR S300 or S700 drive
- Connect to PROFIBUS network using shielded cable with proper termination
- Set unique node address via rotary switches or software before network commissioning
- Ensure PROFIBUS master configuration includes correct GSD file for drive integration
Operating Precautions
- Verify compatibility with host drive model before installation
- Maintain shield integrity on PROFIBUS cables to prevent communication errors
- Monitor RUN and ERROR LEDs for network health status
- Do not remove card while drive is powered
