Description
KONGSBERG RSER200-4 603444
Technical Specifications Brand: KONGSBERG Model: RSER200-4, part number 603444 Power Supply: 24 VDC Serial Channels: 4 configurable serial ports Serial Interface: RS232 / RS485 software configurable Fieldbus: Kongsberg redundant automation backplane bus Channel Isolation: Galvanic isolation for each serial channel Protection Grade: IP20 for cabinet mounting Operating Temperature: -25°C ~ +70°C Humidity: 5% ~ 95% non-condensing
Functional Features Four independent isolated serial ports to connect multiple external serial devices. Bi-directional protocol conversion between serial devices and Kongsberg control bus. Real-time communication link diagnostic for every serial channel, report link failure. Hot-swap capability for online replacement without stopping whole automation system. Front panel LED indicators for module power, backplane bus and serial port link state. Galvanic isolation eliminates ground loop noise and protects main rack from surge. Hardware meets marine shock, vibration and salt fog environmental standards.
Application Scenarios Offshore platform gas detector data collection, marine diesel engine monitoring system interface, ship flow computer serial data gateway, vessel auxiliary equipment communication integration, FPSO third-party instrument data access.
Performance Parameters Configurable baud rate supports wide range of marine serial instruments. Isolation circuit suppresses common mode surge from field serial lines. Communication interruption detected instantly and alarm uploaded. High immunity against electromagnetic interference from marine power equipment. Stable long-term operation in offshore salt fog environment.
Material Composition Front panel: flame retardant black ABS plastic. PCB: FR4 multilayer printed circuit board with conformal coating. Core components: serial transceiver chip, opto-isolator, bus communication processor. Backplane connector: gold plated edge connector. Indicator: SMD LED.
Structural Features Standard rack plug-in card structure, rear gold finger plugs into automation rack backplane. Four serial channels have independent isolation and signal conditioning circuit. PCB layout separates serial signal area and backplane bus area for noise reduction. Side plastic latches for fast installation and removal.
Working Principle External marine instruments connect to module serial terminals. Serial data flows through opto-isolation circuit to serial processor. The processor converts serial data packets into internal bus format and transmits to Kongsberg main controller over backplane bus. Downstream control data from main controller converts back into serial message and sends to external field equipment. The module continuously monitors serial link status and sends fault alarm to central alarm station when communication interrupts.
Installation Requirements Insert module into rack slot under power-off state and lock latches. Shielded twisted pair cable is used for serial wiring with single point shield grounding. Serial communication cables must be routed separately from power cables. Set baud rate, parity and data bit parameters for each serial channel after installation. Reserve heat dissipation space inside cabinet and keep air circulation.
Usage Notes Do not connect high voltage signal to serial communication terminals. Check cable terminal tightness regularly under marine vibration. Wear anti-static wristband during module replacement. Recheck serial communication configuration after new module installation. Keep cabinet dry and avoid condensation.
