METSO A413144

Product Brief Introduction: A413144 is machinery protection I/O module for METSO Damatic XD DCS system. It receives signals from eddy current proximity probes, LVDT and vibration transducers for rotating machinery condition monitoring and protection. It measures shaft vibration, thrust position, differential expansion, shaft eccentricity and casing expansion. The module calculates mechanical parameters and sends data to DCS controller. It supports independent protection trip logic even when communication to main DCS is interrupted.

Structural Characteristics Standard METSO DCS plug-in card dimension. Rear gold plated edge connector plugs into rack backplane. Front panel fitted with extraction handle and LED indicator window. PCB separates analog sensor signal conditioning circuit and digital processing circuit. Each channel has independent probe power supply and signal conditioning circuit. All PCB circuits are protected by three-proof coating.

Working Principle A413144 supplies excitation power to eddy current probes and LVDT sensors. Sensor generates analog signal proportional to mechanical displacement or vibration. Signal conditioning circuit filters noise and amplifies weak signal. High speed ADC converts analog waveform to digital data. Onboard processor computes mechanical parameters and compares values with preset alarm and trip thresholds. When threshold violation or sensor fault occurs, module triggers alarm or protection trip signal and uploads event to DCS system.

Installation Requirements

  1. Insert A413144 into rack guide slot, push fully and lock front handle.
  2. Use low capacitance dedicated coaxial cable for proximity probe wiring. Separate sensor cable from high voltage power cable.
  3. Configure sensor type, measurement range and alarm/trip thresholds in METSO engineering workstation.
  4. Complete loop calibration and point test before online commissioning.
  5. Ensure cabinet protective grounding is reliable, grounding resistance less than 4 ohms.
  6. Keep cabinet ventilation path unobstructed.

Usage Precautions

  1. Do not connect high voltage signal to sensor input terminals. Overvoltage damages probe power supply and analog front-end.
  2. Match cable length parameter to actual probe cable length. Incorrect capacitance creates measurement error.
  3. Hot swap must follow METSO official maintenance procedure.
  4. Do not touch gold plated connector pins by hand.
  5. No field repairable components. Replace whole module upon failure.
  6. Prevent metal debris falling into rack slot during installation.
