Panametrics MMY30-R2B2G

Product Introduction MMY30-R2B2G is a liquid ultrasonic flow meter electronics unit from Panametrics (now Baker Hughes). Paired with clamp-on or wetted ultrasonic transducers, it measures liquid flow by transit-time difference, with display, pushbuttons, and communication output for water, chemicals, and oil.

Materials and Construction

  • Housing: Die-cast aluminum
  • Display: LCD
  • Electronics: FR4 board
  • Transducer ports: Coaxial fittings
  • Terminals: Screw-fastened
  • Seal: Silicone

Structural Features

  • Field die-cast aluminum housing
  • Front LCD and pushbuttons
  • Side transducer coax and power/output terminals
  • Sealed cable glands
  • DIN rail or wall mount
  • IP65

Working Principle Two transducers upstream and downstream send ultrasonic pulses with and against flow; the difference in transit time is proportional to flow velocity. The electronics measures transit times and computes velocity and flow. LCD displays flow; 4 to 20 mA and pulse transmit remotely. Pushbuttons set pipe diameter, material, wall thickness, and sound speed.

Installation Requirements

  • Mount transducers per V or Z method on pipe
  • Apply couplant uniformly
  • Wall-mount or DIN rail the electronics
  • Coaxial transducer cable length per manual
  • DC24 V supply
  • Temperature -40 °C to +60 °C
  • Enter pipe parameters for calibration after power-up

Precautions

  • Upstream/downstream straight run requirements met
  • Uniform material, no liner
  • Liquid full pipe, no bubbles
  • Periodically check transducer couplant
  • Store spares in dry environment
  • Periodically air-gap zero verification
