Description
Woodward GSOV25HT
Technical Specifications
- Temperature Range: Suitable for gas temperatures from -20°C to +177°C.
- Shutoff Capability: Meets ANSI Class IV in the reverse direction.
- Pressure Differential: Rated for a pressure differential of 3450 kPa.
- Turbine Compatibility: Designed for 10 to 50 MW industrial turbines with single or branched fuel inlet manifolds.
Functional Features
- Rapid Closure: Engineered for the fastest possible shutoff to protect the turbine.
- Zero Leakage: Special seal design ensures no leakage from inlet to outlet when closed.
- Fail-Safe Operation: Spring-loaded mechanism guarantees valve closure upon loss of electrical signal or pilot pressure.
- High-Temperature Resilience: Capable of operating in extreme thermal environments.
Application Scenarios
Extensively utilized in industrial gas turbine engines, power generation plants, and mechanical drive applications requiring reliable and rapid fuel isolation.
Performance Parameters
- Closure Time: The spring-loaded primary piston moves to the closed position within 85 milliseconds upon loss of control pressure or voltage.
- Pilot Pressure Requirement: Requires a P1 pressure greater than 1034 kPa (150 psig) to overcome spring forces and open.
Material Composition
Constructed with a robust stainless steel structure to ensure high reliability and resistance to corrosion in harsh industrial environments. Internal components include Inconel springs and Viton face seals.
Structural Characteristics
Features a three-stage valving design (solenoid, second-stage piston, and primary stage piston) to maintain a low pressure drop and high flow rate while ensuring high-speed shutoff.
Working Principle
When energized, gas pressure holds the spring-loaded pistons open, allowing fuel flow. If the electrical signal to the solenoid is lost, a secondary spring-loaded piston reverses, relieving primary control pressure. The main spring then forces the primary piston against the seal, stopping the flow.
Installation Requirements
Prior to maintenance or installation, inlet and outlet gas pressure must be completely relieved. Electrical power must be removed from the solenoid and proximity switches. The pilot-section filter must be cleaned at least once per year.
Precautions for Use
Diligently monitor vent connection leakage; if it exceeds 1000 cm³/min when closed or open, it indicates degraded seals or internal contamination requiring immediate attention. Never connect or disconnect electrical circuits while live in hazardous areas.
