Description
Woodward TG17A8516-045
Technical Specifications
- Model: TG-17A
- Part Number: 8516-045
- Control Input: Electronic signals from Woodward digital controllers (e.g., 505, MicroNet)
- Hydraulic System: Self-contained, independent oil source
Functional Features
- Digital Compatibility: Fully compatible with advanced electronic control systems for enhanced turbine management.
- High-Precision Positioning: Utilizes internal position feedback transducers for exact valve positioning.
- Isochronous & Droop Control: Supports both synchronous load sharing and droop speed control modes.
- Retrofit Design: Engineered to replace existing mechanical governors without altering the original turbine drive linkage.
Application Scenarios
Widely deployed in steam turbine modernization projects, industrial cogeneration plants, and marine auxiliary drives where precise, automated steam valve control is required.
Performance Parameters
- Dynamic Response: Fast-acting servo valve for rapid load acceptance and rejection.
- Positioning Accuracy: High-resolution electronic feedback ensures precise and repeatable valve positioning.
Material Composition
Constructed with heavy-duty industrial-grade metals, precision-machined hydraulic cylinders, and high-integrity seals to ensure leak-free, long-term operation in harsh environments.
Structural Characteristics
- Self-Contained: Includes an integrated oil pump, reservoir, and filtration system.
- Electrical Interface: Features dedicated connectors for speed signals, actuator position feedback, and control power.
Working Principle
Receives an electronic speed or load command from a digital controller. An internal electro-hydraulic servo valve precisely meters oil from the self-contained reservoir to a hydraulic piston, moving the turbine steam valve to the exact commanded position while continuously verifying position via internal feedback.
Installation Requirements
Requires electrical power and signal wiring from the host digital controller. Must be properly grounded and mechanically linked to the existing turbine valve mechanism with correct alignment.
Precautions for Use
Never apply electrical power before verifying all mechanical connections and linkage clearances. Perform a full stroke calibration via the digital controller after installation, and regularly monitor the self-contained oil level and filtration condition.
