Yokogawa KS1-10-B

Product Introduction KS1-10-B is a signal isolator manufactured by Yokogawa Electric of Japan for 4 to 20 mA analog signal isolation in process control. The product electrically isolates field transmitter signals from the control system, blocking ground loops and common-mode interference while performing signal distribution and conversion. DIN-rail mounted for analog signal isolation and distribution in petrochemical, chemical, and power process control.

Materials and Construction

  • Housing: Flame-retardant engineering plastic
  • PCB: FR4 board
  • Core: Isolation amplifier, DC/DC supply
  • Passive components: Metal film resistors, ceramic capacitors
  • Terminals: Screw-fastened terminals
  • Mounting clip: 35 mm DIN rail clip

  • Top input terminals, bottom output terminals
  • Side supply terminals
  • Internal isolation transformer and amplifier
  • Fanless natural convection
  • Compact width saving cabinet space

Working Principle Field 4 to 20 mA enters input terminals; V/I conversion feeds an isolation transformer that transfers the signal to the output side. The transformer provides 1500 VAC three-way isolation; the output side reconstructs a 4 to 20 mA current to the PLC. DC24 V supply feeds a DC/DC converter powering both sides. LEDs indicate power and signal.

Installation Requirements

  • Snap-mount on 35 mm DIN rail
  • Connect input/output terminals per markings
  • Connect DC24 V supply
  • Use shielded twisted pair signal wires
  • Cabinet temperature 0 °C to +55 °C
  • Verify signal direction after power-up

Precautions

  • Never reverse input and output
  • Do not overload
  • Store spares in dry environment
  • Periodically check output accuracy
  • Disconnect power before service
  • Route signal wires separately from power cables
