Description
Foxboro DNBI
Technical Specifications
- Model Number: DNBI
- Function: Node Bus Network Interface
- System: Foxboro I/A Series
Functional Features
- Redundant Networking: Supports dual, independent bus connections for zero single-point-of-failure.
- Data Framing: Packages and validates data packets for transmission across the node bus.
- Collision Detection: Advanced media access control for reliable multi-node communication.
Application Scenarios
Installed in every I/A Series node to facilitate communication between processors, I/O modules, and operator stations.
Performance Parameters
- Bandwidth: High-speed data transfer supporting real-time control requirements.
- Latency: Deterministic network access times.
Material Composition
High-speed transceivers and precision transformers housed in a shielded enclosure.
Structural Characteristics
- Dual Port Design: Separate connectors for Bus A and Bus B.
- Compact Form Factor: Fits standard I/A Series module slots.
Working Principle
The DNBI listens to both redundant buses, transmits data from the local node, and receives data destined for the local node, managing retransmissions and error checking automatically.
Installation Requirements
Connect Bus A and Bus B cables to the correct ports. Ensure proper termination at both ends of the bus segment.
Usage Precautions
Never disconnect both bus cables simultaneously while the node is powered. Verify bus termination resistance to prevent signal reflections.
