Working Principle:
Continuously monitors the drive’s DC bus voltage. When regenerative energy causes the voltage to rise above a set limit, the BCU-01 turns on the internal IGBT, connecting the braking resistor to dissipate the energy as heat.
Installation Requirements:
- Connect between the drive’s DC bus terminals and the external braking resistor.
- Ensure proper sizing of the braking resistor.
Usage Precautions:
- Never operate without a properly rated braking resistor connected.
- Allow adequate cooling time after heavy braking cycles.
