- Working Principle:
The CI520V1 acts as the bus master, initiating cyclic data exchanges with each configured slave node on the Advant Fieldbus. Process data is mapped into the controller’s I/O image table and updated every scan cycle; acyclic services handle parameter upload/download and diagnostics.
- Installation Requirements:
- Install in designated communication slot of Advant controller or extender rack
- Terminate both ends of the fieldbus with proper termination resistors (typically 220 Ω)
- Use screened twisted-pair cable, shield grounded at one end (usually controller side)
- Precautions:
- Do NOT mix terminator resistors with active repeaters incorrectly — may cause reflection issues
- Verify node address DIP-switch settings on each slave before bus commissioning
- Avoid routing fieldbus cable in same tray as high-power AC or VFD output cables
