ABB NTR002

Brief: Small keyed plug inserted into the C.W. OUT port of the last node in a Control Way daisy-chain (or into the INNIS21/INICT13 terminator jack) containing the correct differential termination resistor (93 Ω for coax Infi-Net; 120 Ω for STP versions) plus optional bias network. Ensures signal integrity by preventing reflections.

Description

ABB NTR002

  • Specs:
    • Termination: 93 Ω ±1 % (coax Infi-Net) or 120 Ω (STP C.W.)
    • Bias: Some versions include fail-safe bias resistors to hold idle line at defined state if all nodes off-line
    • Form Factor: Keyed plastic plug (matches C.W. OUT BNC or D-sub style on INNIS21/IMMUI termination block)
    • Operating Temp.: –40 °C to +85 °C
  • Install: Insert into C.W. OUT port of last I/O/controller rack’s INNIS21 (or into designated termination block TB); verify both A-ring and B-ring have terminator at their respective ends.
  • Precaution: Missing or wrong-value terminator causes CRC errors, intermittent dropouts — always verify both ends of C.W. ring are terminated.

B. Turbine / Protection Interpretation (if NTR002 is from RET/REG spare list)

  • Brief: In ABB REG216 / RET670 / overspeed protection systems, NTR002 can denote a Trip Relay / Redundancy Test Module — a 2oo3 voted trip amplifier or a contact-monitoring module that supervises trip relay continuity and provides test pushbutton function for proof-testing protection loops.
  • Features: Monitors trip relay coil continuity; provides manual test pushbutton (momentarily opens/closes test circuit without issuing trip); LEDs show channel healthy / tripped; interfaces to 110 V DC trip supply.
  • Application: Overspeed protection system — each trip channel (A/B/C in 2oo3) has its trip relay; NTR002 supervises and allows test without process shutdown.
  • Precaution: Test function must be exercised per SIS proof-test procedure — document result.
