- Channels: Multiple independent analog input channels.
- Accuracy: High-precision signal conditioning and conversion.
- Isolation: Channel-to-channel and channel-to-bus galvanic isolation.
Functional Features:
- Multi-Signal Support: Flexible configuration for various field instrument types.
- Linearization: Built-in linearization tables for thermocouples and RTDs.
- Diagnostics: Open-wire detection and out-of-range alarming.
- Filtering: Configurable digital filtering to smooth noisy field signals.
Application Scenarios:
- Temperature and pressure monitoring in boiler control systems.
- Level measurement in storage tanks.
- General process variable acquisition in manufacturing.
Material Composition & Structural Characteristics:
- Termination: Interfaces with standard ABB analog termination units (e.g., NTCL01).
- PCB: Multi-layer board with precision analog components.
- Mounting: Standard DIN rail or rack mounting.
Working Principle:
Field signals are routed through the termination unit to the SPIIT13. The module applies signal conditioning, isolation, and analog-to-digital conversion. For temperature inputs, it applies cold-junction compensation and linearization before sending the digital value to the controller.
Installation Requirements:
- Wire field instruments to the correct terminals on the termination unit.
- Use shielded cables for all analog signals.
- Configure the signal type and range in the controller software before commissioning.
Usage Precautions:
- Do not apply voltage to current input channels.
- Ensure proper thermocouple polarity when wiring temperature sensors.
