Product Brief:​ The TB820V2 (commonly called BC820​ in AC 800M literature — “TB” prefix sometimes used in spare-part lists) is the redundant controller baseplate​ for the AC 800M family. It holds:

  • Two CPU slots (left = Primary, right = Standby — or vice versa per config)
  • Two PSU slots (for SD822/SD823/SD831 redundant 24 V DC PSUs)
  • One CEX-bus slot (for CI854, CI840, CI871 etc. — usually occupied by the primary CPU’s CEX card; standby CPU’s CEX card optional if only one CEX-bus interface is used & both CPUs access it via backplane)
  • ModuleBus header (to connect local S800 I/O rack via TK801V006)
  • Integrated sync link between CPUs (high-speed LVDS or fiber — internal to baseplate)
  • Diode-OR for dual PSUs → single 24 V DC bus to CPUs & CEX card

    The “V2” denotes the second hardware revision — improved noise immunity, supports PM876/PM891, and has updated keying to prevent insertion of obsolete PM851/PM861 (which require BC810 or early BC820 V1 — but V2 is generally backward-compatible with PM865/PM866; PM876 requires V2+).

      • Firmware version must match Control Builder M version — check compat matrix before upgrade
      • Keep spare BC820V2 if critical — though failure rate extremely low; more common to spare CPUs/PSUs
