Material Composition
Stainless steel probe body with precision-wound internal coil, TipLoc patented molding technology, CableLoc patented cable retention design, and gold-plated ClickLoc connectors.
Structural Characteristics
Cylindrical 8mm diameter probe with M10×1 metric mounting thread. The probe features an integrated 1.0 meter standard cable terminated with a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector. The 0.2 inch unthreaded length and 1.2 inch case length provide a compact form factor for installations with limited axial space.
Working Principle
The probe coil generates a high-frequency magnetic field (typically 1-2 MHz), and eddy currents induced in the conductive target surface alter the coil impedance proportionally to the gap distance. The Proximitor detects this impedance change and converts it into a DC voltage output.
Installation Requirements
Mount the probe using the M10×1 metric thread in a tapped hole on the machine bearing housing. Ensure the probe tip is perpendicular to the target surface. The total system electrical length (probe cable plus extension cable) must match the Proximitor rating.
Usage Notes
Verify the target surface is clean, smooth, and free of scratches or plating before installation. The recommended initial gap setting is 1.27 mm (50 mils), corresponding to approximately -10 VDC output. Ensure the combined electrical length of the 1.0 meter probe cable plus the extension cable exactly matches the Proximitor’s rated system length.
