- Probe Housing: AISI 303/304 stainless steel
- Probe Tip: PPS engineering plastic with ferrite core
- Cable: FEP-insulated coaxial cable
- Connectors: ClickLoc gold-plated copper
Structural Features: Cylindrical 8mm probe body with M10×1 threaded section. The -14 code indicates a specific probe body length. The integrated cable terminates in a ClickLoc connector. The probe is hermetically sealed for IP67 protection.
Working Principle: Identical to the standard 3300 XL 8mm eddy current principle. The probe coil generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field that induces eddy currents in the conductive shaft target. The resulting impedance change in the coil is proportional to the probe-to-target gap distance. The Proximitor converts this impedance variation into a linear DC voltage output for static displacement and an AC voltage superimposed on DC for dynamic vibration measurement.
Installation Requirements:
- Mount in M10×1 threaded bracket with 1.7 to 2.3 N·m torque
- Ensure perpendicular alignment to the shaft surface (within 3°)
- Total system cable length must be 5.0 m or 9.0 m
- Connect to 3300 XL Proximitor via extension cable
- Adjust gap to -10.0 Vdc ± 0.2 Vdc output
- Single-point shield grounding at Proximitor or monitor end
- Route signal cables away from power cables (minimum 30 cm separation)
Usage Notes:
- The -05 suffix confirms CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certifications; verify the specific hazardous area classification matches the installation zone
- Target material must match the Proximitor calibration (default AISI 4140 steel)
- Target surface must be clean, smooth, and free of coatings
- Perform gap adjustment with the machine at rest
- Observe ESD precautions when handling the probe and connectors
- Do not exceed the minimum cable bend radius (8× cable diameter)
