Working Principle The probe operates through eddy-current induction. The coil within the probe tip generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field when excited by the Proximitor sensor. Conductive targets entering this field induce eddy currents that modify coil impedance. The Proximitor converts this impedance change into a proportional voltage output representing both static gap and dynamic vibration.

Installation Requirements

  • Mount in M10×1 threaded hole with 10 mm counterbore for unthreaded section
  • Ensure perpendicular alignment to target surface
  • Set probe gap to 1.0 mm
  • Verify -10 Vdc gap voltage
  • Maintain 25.4 mm minimum bend radius for armored cable
  • Install connector protector after mating extension cable

Usage Precautions

  • Verify counterbore depth accommodates 10 mm unthreaded length
  • Do not kink or crush armored cable during installation
  • Armor provides abrasion resistance but not crush protection
  • Connector protector must be installed to maintain environmental seal
  • Inspect armor braid for damage before installation
  • Armored cable is less flexible; plan routing carefully
