Working Principle The embedded host CPU sends data through host bus to EPCDFBA board. The onboard protocol controller packages data into standard fieldbus frames and transmits to fieldbus network via isolated transceiver. Incoming fieldbus messages are decoded, verified and transferred to host CPU. The galvanic isolation barrier blocks high voltage surges and common mode noise from field wiring to protect embedded host board. The communication monitoring circuit counts frame errors and triggers alarm signal when communication failure occurs.
Installation Requirements
- Fix board inside closed equipment chassis with proper mechanical support.
- Complete board-to-board connection with host CPU motherboard.
- Use shielded twisted pair cable for fieldbus network wiring.
- Single point grounding of cable shield at one end only.
- Configure node address and baud rate before system startup.
- Maintain proper clearance between board and high voltage circuits.
- Verify communication wiring polarity after installation.
Usage Notes
- Apply static protection when handling bare PCB board.
- Do not exceed maximum voltage rating on fieldbus terminals.
- Avoid physical bending or scratching PCB traces.
- Backup firmware before performing firmware upgrade.
- Keep board away from moisture and corrosive gas.
- Do not operate board without chassis shielding in high EMI environment.
- Check communication error counters regularly during long time operation.
