Performance Parameters
- Accuracy: High precision for low-range measurements.
- Response Time: Fast response to changes in process conductivity.
- Operating Temperature: Rated for standard industrial process temperatures.
Material Composition
The sensor body is constructed from rugged, chemically resistant materials such as PEEK (Polyether ether ketone) or specialized polymers. The internal toroid is encapsulated to prevent moisture ingress.
Structural Characteristics
Features a donut-shaped (toroidal) sensing element encased in a protective, streamlined housing. The design ensures that the process fluid flows smoothly through the center of the toroid without creating dead zones.
Working Principle
The sensor operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction. A drive coil induces a voltage in the fluid passing through the toroid, creating a current loop. A sense coil measures the strength of this current, which is directly proportional to the conductivity of the fluid.
Installation Requirements
Install in a full pipe to ensure the sensing area is completely submerged. Avoid installing in areas where air bubbles can be trapped in the toroid. Ensure proper grounding of the process fluid if necessary.
Usage Precautions
- Do not use in high-conductivity applications as it will saturate.
- Avoid mechanical shock during installation.
- Verify chemical compatibility with the wetted materials before deployment.
