Working Principle
The module’s internal microcontroller polls its input channels, performs A/D conversion, applies scaling and filtering, and timestamps the data. This data is packetized and sent over the 2 Mbps fieldbus to the controller. For outputs, it receives commands from the controller and performs D/A conversion or digital switching.

Installation Requirements
Must be plugged into a compatible FTA (like the RH916TA) and mounted on the I/O baseplate. Requires configuration in the DCS engineering database.

Usage Precautions

  • Always match the FBM211 variant to the correct FTA for proper signal wiring.
  • Do not apply signals exceeding the module’s maximum ratings.
  • Use shielded twisted-pair cable for analog signals and ground the shield at the FTA only.
