Description
Honeywell 396352-01-4
Technical Specifications Eddy current sensing principle; defined standard probe tip diameter; matched cable impedance; operating temperature range for industrial field; compatible with Honeywell machinery monitoring rack systems; integrated cable and probe tip structure.
Functional Features Captures dynamic clearance variation between probe and rotating metal target. Outputs proportional electrical signals reflecting shaft vibration and displacement. Resists general industrial electromagnetic interference. Supports continuous long-term monitoring of rotating equipment operating status. Provides raw measurement signals for machinery protection and fault diagnosis.
Application Scenarios Steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, large industrial pumps, fans and other high-speed rotating equipment in power, petrochemical and refining industries.
Performance Parameters Linear measurement range within rated target clearance; stable signal output under mechanical vibration; consistent impedance characteristics; fast response to high-frequency shaft movement.
Material Composition Probe tip uses high-performance ceramic insulation; internal coil is wound with fine high-temperature magnet wire; outer cable jacket is oil-resistant and abrasion-resistant thermoplastic; connector parts are nickel-plated stainless steel.
Structural Characteristics Cylindrical probe sensing head; threaded mounting body for installation on probe brackets; integrated coaxial extension cable; precision assembled coil sealed inside the ceramic tip; metal connector at cable end.
Working Principle High-frequency alternating current passes through the internal coil of the probe to form an alternating electromagnetic field. When the metal rotating shaft approaches or moves away from the probe tip, eddy currents generate on the metal surface and change the impedance of the probe coil. The signal conditioner converts this impedance change into voltage signals corresponding to clearance values.
Installation Requirements Mount the probe on a rigid fixed bracket of the equipment casing. Adjust the probe gap to the middle position of the linear measurement range before locking the thread. Route the cable with the minimum bending radius specified in the official datasheet. Separate the probe cable from high-current power cables.
Precautions for Use Avoid scratching the ceramic probe tip and metal target surface. Do not cut or splice the matched probe cable. Prevent strong mechanical impact on the probe assembly. Do not use the probe for measurement on non-conductive target materials.
