Honeywell 51196485-400

Product Introduction 51196485-400 is a high-capacity Bernoulli removable disk cartridge designed for Honeywell TDC3000 distributed control system, revision 400 variant. It provides 650MB formatted storage capacity for system configuration backup, large-scale historical trend archive, batch recipe library and multi-node firmware package storage. It inherits Bernoulli floating disk sealing technology. Revision 400 version improves track density and error correction algorithm compared with lower capacity 150MB cartridge. It is backward compatible with matching Bernoulli drive units supporting high-capacity media. It is the preferred portable backup media for large TDC3000 control nodes.

Material Composition High-strength ABS sealed cartridge housing High-density magnetic oxide coated disk platter Dust-proof elastic sealing gasket around media opening Side-mounted plastic write protect slider Metal positioning guide rail for drive bay alignment Printed media label area Internal anti-static coating on inner housing surface

Structural Features Standard Bernoulli cartridge form factor with enlarged track density layout. Precision guide rail ensures stable positioning inside drive bay. Write protect slider on side edge switches read-only mode. Sealing gasket isolates floating disk platter from external dust and airborne particles. Floating disk structure relies on aerodynamic air cushion during rotation to avoid physical contact between head and disk surface. All magnetic media components are fully enclosed inside sealed cartridge housing.

Working Principle After inserting cartridge into compatible Bernoulli drive bay, drive motor spins internal disk platter to rated rotational speed. Bernoulli aerodynamic effect generates stable thin air layer between disk surface and read-write head. Read-write head floats on air cushion to read and write magnetic tracks on platter. Host drive unit sends SCSI command to complete file operation. Built-in error correction algorithm recovers data from minor sector read disturbance. If unrecoverable sector error is detected, drive unit sends media fault alarm to TDC3000 operator station.

Installation Requirements Only grip outer plastic housing, avoid touching sealing gasket and media opening. Insert cartridge into high-capacity supported Bernoulli drive bay until locking mechanism engages. Toggle write protect slider to locked position after completing backup file writing. Format media through TDC3000 engineering workstation before first use. Verify file read and write and large file storage function after formatting. Eject cartridge only after all file transfers complete and drive enters idle state.

Usage Notes This cartridge can only work on Bernoulli drive units that support 650MB high-capacity media. Keep cartridge away from permanent magnet, electromagnetic transformer and high-temperature heat source. Do not drop, squeeze or open the sealed cartridge housing. Store cartridge in anti-static dust-proof media case when not in use. Replace cartridge when multiple unrecoverable sector errors appear continuously. Avoid rapid temperature change which causes condensation inside cartridge.
