Functional Features Distributes rack DC power supply to each I/O module slot; Transmits parallel bus control and data signals between controller and I/O cards; Isolates power traces and signal traces to reduce crosstalk; Provides mechanical positioning for plug-in I/O modules; Built-in overcurrent protection for each power branch; Supports hot swap for compatible I/O modules.
Application Scenarios Petrochemical TDC3000 DCS I/O cabinet; Chemical plant analog and discrete signal acquisition rack; Refinery process monitoring control cabinet; Power plant boiler auxiliary I/O rack; Gas pipeline DCS signal control cabinet; Fertilizer plant distributed control system rack.
Performance Parameters Gold contact resistance maintains low and stable value; Signal transmission delay consistent for all slots; Power distribution ripple remains within rated limit; Withstands repeated thermal cycling without contact degradation; Signal noise suppression meets DCS hardware standard.
Material Composition FR4 multi-layer flame retardant PCB; Gold plated copper contact pins; Copper conductive traces; Epoxy resin substrate; Metal fixing brackets; Plastic positioning baffles; Stainless steel mounting screws.
Structural Features Flat rectangular backplane board; Linear arranged multi-slot edge connectors along front edge; Embedded power and signal traces inside PCB layers; Mounting holes distributed on board surface for rack fastening; Physical separation layout between power area and signal area.
Working Principle Rack power supply transmits DC power to power traces on backplane board. When I/O modules insert into rack slots, gold plated contacts mate with module edge connectors. Control commands and process data signals transmit between controller and I/O modules through dedicated bus traces on PCB. The isolation layout prevents cross interference between adjacent module channels. Overcurrent protection components cut off power supply when short circuit occurs in any slot.
Installation Requirements Secure backplane inside DCS rack with mounting screws to specified torque; Remove conductive dust and debris on contact surface before installing I/O modules; Wire rack power cable strictly following wiring diagram; Connect cabinet protective earth reliably; Maintain cabinet ventilation to control operating temperature.
Precautions for Use Cut off rack main power before backplane replacement; Use electrostatic protective measures to prevent PCB damage; Avoid bending and scratching gold plated contact pins; Keep cabinet internal environment dry to prevent condensation; Inspect contact pin condition during long-term routine maintenance.
