Honeywell 51304518-100

Product Introduction This auxiliary processor module belongs to Honeywell TDC3000 APM controller subsystem. It provides auxiliary computing and sequence logic processing capacity to APM main processor. It offloads batch sequencing, timer calculation and secondary alarm logic from main CPU to reduce main controller scan load. It communicates with APM main board through dedicated internal parallel bus.

Functional Features Independent execution of batch sequential function chart logic and timer blocks. Battery backed RAM preserves sequence state and setpoint value during short power interruption. Hardware watchdog timer resets auxiliary processor if logic execution stalls. Internal bus parity check detects communication error between APM main CPU and APM auxiliary processor. Front panel LED indicates power, bus communication and watchdog fault status. Diagnostic register uploads internal fault information to APM system alarm log.

Application Scenarios Continuous chemical batch process sequential control logic offload DCS complex timer and delay logic processing APM controller capacity expansion for large sequence control project TDC3000 APM rack spare replacement for batch plant DCS

Performance Parameters

  • Auxiliary logic scan cycle: Configurable from 20 ms to 200 ms
  • Battery backup hold time: Minimum 72 hours under room temperature
  • Bus parity error detection latency: Single bus cycle
  • Watchdog timeout period: 500 ms fixed
  • Logic memory capacity supports hundreds of sequence steps

Material Composition Multilayer FR4 PCB, 32-bit RISC processor IC, static RAM chips, flash memory chips, lithium backup battery assembly, bus buffer logic IC, decoupling tantalum and ceramic capacitors, gold plated board-to-board connector, black flame retardant plastic front panel.

Structural Features Plug-in daughter card form factor installed inside APM controller chassis. Front panel with LED indicator and extraction handle. Rear gold edge connector mates with APM motherboard local bus socket. Internal metal shielding cover reduces EMI interference to memory and processor circuit. Anti-keying notch prevents reversed insertion. Battery compartment is sealed to avoid electrolyte leakage contamination.

Working Principle APM main CPU transmits sequence logic command and setpoint data over internal parallel bus to auxiliary processor module. Auxiliary processor executes batch step transition, timer accumulation and interlock condition judgment independently. Sequence status and calculated result are sent back to main CPU. If bus parity error or watchdog timeout occurs, fault flag is asserted and auxiliary processor enters safe idle state. Backup battery maintains RAM state when rack main power fails.

Installation Requirements APM rack main power must be fully de-energized before module installation or replacement. Align board orientation mark and insert fully into motherboard socket. Confirm APM firmware version supports this auxiliary processor module. After power restoration, download sequence logic configuration to auxiliary processor. Check battery voltage status in APM diagnostic menu periodically.

Usage Notes This module does not support hot swap operation. Power removal is mandatory. Do not remove backup battery while module is powered. Battery has fixed service life and requires scheduled replacement. Do not modify onboard firmware or erase flash memory manually. Static protection is mandatory during handling.
