Material Composition PCB Substrate: High-TG flame-retardant FR-4 multi-layer glass fiber board, low-level signal shielding zoning layout High-resolution low-noise ADC conversion chip Cold junction compensation platinum RTD sensor Thermocouple linearization FPGA logic chip Group isolation optocoupler array Gold-plated back edge fingers Gold-plated field terminal block contacts Cold-rolled steel front panel with electrostatic spray coating

Structural Features Standard European pluggable card structure, installed in dedicated low-level analog I/O slot of UCN I/O rack. Front panel is equipped with run indicator light, group fault indicator lights and general fault indicator light. Field wiring terminals are arranged on the side panel, marked with polarity for thermocouple positive and negative wire. Low millivolt signal traces adopt full shielding layout to avoid external electromagnetic noise coupling. Isolation barriers separate each group of 4 channels to limit fault spread.

Working Principle Thermoelectric millivolt signals from field thermocouple sensors enter the module through shielded extension wires. The isolation circuit separates field thermocouple loop and internal logic circuit. The signal conditioning circuit filters noise and amplifies weak millivolt signal. The high-resolution ADC chip converts analog millivolt signal into digital value. The FPGA chip reads cold junction temperature data, completes cold junction compensation and thermocouple linearization calculation, converts raw digital data into standard temperature engineering value. It sends temperature data and channel fault information to the rack IOP processor through backplane bus. It records wire break and polarity reversal fault events with time stamp.

Installation Requirements Insert the module vertically into the dedicated low-level analog I/O slot of UCN rack and tighten front panel fixing screws. Connect thermocouple extension wires to the corresponding terminal ports following polarity marking. Use matched thermocouple extension wire for field wiring, ordinary copper wire causes large measurement error. Ground the shielding layer at the module side only. Download thermocouple type, filter and scaling parameters from Control Builder software after power on. Verify temperature reading accuracy and wire break alarm function on the HPM diagnostic screen.

Precautions Release static electricity before plugging the module to protect high-precision low-level ADC circuit. Do not connect 4-20mA current signals or high voltage signals to thermocouple input channels. Thermocouple wiring must be separated from high-power inverter and AC power cables. Polarity reversal of thermocouple wires leads to negative temperature reading and measurement failure. Ambient temperature fluctuation of the rack affects cold junction compensation precision.
