Honeywell 51401546-150

Product Introduction This RTD multiplexer analog input module is designed for Honeywell TDC3000 TPS UCN I/O subsystem. Revision 150 optimizes constant current source stability and temperature drift performance. It collects resistance signals from platinum RTD temperature sensors, supports 2-wire, 3-wire and 4-wire RTD connection modes. It converts resistance variation into accurate temperature value and transmits data to the rack IOP processor. It provides stable temperature measurement for water tanks, pipelines, bearing housings and other medium temperature monitoring points in process industries.

Material Composition PCB Substrate: High-TG flame-retardant FR-4 multi-layer glass fiber board, analog and digital circuit partition layout High-stability constant current source chip High-precision ADC conversion chip RTD linearization logic FPGA chip Gold-plated back edge fingers Gold-plated field terminal block contacts Cold-rolled steel front panel with electrostatic spray coating

Structural Features Standard European pluggable card structure, installed in dedicated analog I/O slot of UCN I/O rack. Front panel is equipped with run indicator light, fault indicator light and channel fault indicator light. Field wiring terminals are arranged on the side panel for RTD sensor cable connection. Weak resistance signal traces adopt shielding design to reduce external electromagnetic interference. Constant current source components are arranged with heat isolation structure to reduce thermal drift.

Working Principle The module outputs stable constant current to each RTD sensor. The resistance value of RTD changes along with medium temperature, generating corresponding voltage signal. The high-precision ADC converts the voltage signal into digital value. The FPGA chip executes wire resistance compensation and RTD characteristic linearization calculation, converting raw resistance data into standard temperature reading. It sends temperature data and channel health status to the rack IOP processor through backplane bus. It records open-circuit, short-circuit and over-range fault events with time stamp.

Installation Requirements Insert the module vertically into the dedicated analog I/O slot of UCN rack and tighten front panel fixing screws. Connect RTD sensor cables to the corresponding terminal ports following wiring mode marking. Adopt shielded twisted pair cables for field RTD wiring and single-point grounding of shielding layer. Download channel configuration, RTD type and wiring mode parameters from Control Builder software after power on. Verify temperature reading accuracy and zero fault alarm on the HPM diagnostic screen.

Precautions Release static electricity before plugging the module to protect high-precision analog circuit. 2-wire wiring mode brings larger wire resistance error, 4-wire mode achieves highest measurement precision. Do not route RTD cables alongside high-power AC cables to avoid inductive interference. Long field cables require regular calibration of wire resistance compensation parameters. The module cannot accept thermocouple millivolt signals, it is designed exclusively for RTD resistance measurement.
