Description

Honeywell 51402614-100

Technical Specifications Piezo-resistive pressure sensing element; standard 4-20mA analog output; wide calibrated pressure span; ambient temperature compensation circuit; threaded process connection; explosion-proof and intrinsically safe certification options.

Functional Features Performs continuous high-precision measurement of process media pressure. Automatically compensates measurement readings for changes in process and ambient temperature. Converts sensed pressure values into a linear 4-20mA output signal proportional to the calibrated pressure range. Supports local zero and span adjustment for field calibration. Contains internal self-diagnosis logic for sensor and electronics faults.

Application Scenarios Refinery pipeline pressure monitoring, chemical reactor pressure control, boiler steam pressure measurement, water pipeline pressure monitoring and hazardous area process pressure loops.

Performance Parameters High measurement linearity over the calibrated span; low long-term zero drift; high overpressure withstand capability; stable signal output under mechanical vibration.

Material Composition Wetted sensing diaphragm is stainless steel alloy; sensor chip is silicon piezo-resistive element; transmitter electronics housing is cast aluminum with corrosion resistant coating; display window is scratch-resistant polycarbonate; internal circuit board is FR-4 flame-retardant PCB.

Structural Characteristics Split construction with process sensing body and rotatable electronics enclosure; threaded male or female process connection for pipeline mounting; cable entry gland for field signal wiring; external zero and span adjustment pushbuttons on the electronics housing.

Working Principle Process pressure acts directly on the metal isolation diaphragm and transfers mechanical stress to the silicon sensing chip. The chip produces a resistance change proportional to applied pressure. Onboard electronic circuitry amplifies, temperature compensates and converts the resistance variation into a 4-20mA analog output signal corresponding to the measured pressure value.

Installation Requirements Mount the transducer with the correct orientation matching liquid, gas or steam service requirements. Install isolation valves and drain manifolds to enable safe calibration and sensor removal. Use shielded twisted-pair instrument cable for the 4-20mA signal loop. Perform zero calibration after mechanical installation before commissioning the measurement loop.

Precautions for Use Do not apply pressure exceeding the maximum overpressure rating of the sensor. Prevent contact between wetted components and media incompatible with stainless steel. Protect the electronics housing from direct mechanical impact and corrosive spray.
