Functional Features Wide range universal AC input adapts global industrial mains voltage. Soft start circuit limits inrush charging current at power-on moment. Independent overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature hardware protection. Power good relay contact outputs dry contact alarm signal to PLC logic. Front panel LED indicates AC present, 5V normal, 24V normal and fault state. Hot swap support allows single power unit replacement while redundant partner continues supplying rack load. Current sharing circuit balances output load between parallel redundant power modules. EMI filter suppresses conducted noise back to upstream AC distribution circuit.
Application Scenarios IPC620 PLC control rack main power source Redundant power configuration for critical water treatment and chemical control cabinet Packaging automation PLC rack power overhaul replacement Industrial machine control panel spare power supply unit Remote unmanned pumping station IPC620 power subsystem
Performance Parameters
- Output voltage regulation accuracy: ±1 % across 20 % to 100 % rated load
- Hold-up time: Minimum 20 ms at full rated load after AC loss
- Overvoltage shutdown threshold: 115 % of nominal DC output
- Fault response speed: <100 µs for overvoltage protection
- Parallel current sharing error: Less than 5 % between redundant units
Material Composition Cold rolled steel chassis with black powder anti-corrosion coating, high frequency switching transformer with class B insulation, MOSFET switching semiconductors, FR4 UL94 V0 control PCB, bulk electrolytic filter capacitors, X and Y safety EMI capacitors, tin plated copper alloy screw AC terminals, gold plated backplane edge connector.
Structural Features Rectangular enclosed metal chassis designed for vertical insertion into IPC620 power rack slot. Front panel integrates status LED array and fault relay terminal connector. Internal metal barrier segregates high voltage AC compartment and low voltage DC compartment. Card edge locking tab prevents loose seating under continuous equipment vibration. Natural convection air channel flows from bottom inlet to top outlet matching rack airflow layout.
Working Principle AC mains input passes through EMI filter and inrush limiting circuit before feeding high frequency switching inverter stage. High frequency transformer provides galvanic isolation between primary AC side and secondary DC side. Two independent rectifier and feedback regulation loops stabilize 5 VDC logic rail and 24 VDC I/O rail. Voltage, current and temperature sampling circuits continuously monitor operating condition. Protection circuits trigger immediate shutdown once parameter exceeds factory calibrated threshold. Parallel redundant units share load current through dedicated current sharing signal line.
Installation Requirements Power upstream AC breaker to off state before module replacement when no redundant unit online. Align module guide rails and push module until locking latch clicks into fixed position. Torque AC input terminal screws to manufacturer specified value. Maintain unobstructed vertical airflow path through cooling vents. Verify power good contact status in PLC diagnostic menu after power restoration. Separate AC input wiring from low voltage I/O signal cables.
Usage Notes Do not block natural convection ventilation slots on top and bottom of module. Do not adjust internal potentiometers calibrated at factory. Do not operate module outside specified 85-264 VAC input window. Do not mix different revision power supply modules in same redundant rack group. Internal high voltage hazard exists for 30 seconds after AC power removal.
