Honeywell 620-1690C

Product Introduction This is the corrosion-resistant conformal coated variant of the standard 620-1690 digital input terminal board. The PCB surface is covered with a uniform acrylic conformal coating layer, which blocks moisture, salt mist and corrosive gas contact with circuit traces. It retains identical electrical function, channel count and IPC620 rack mounting compatibility as the standard 620-1690, while adding environmental protection for offshore, chemical and mining control cabinet installations.

  • Terminal rating: For 0.5–2.5 mm² stranded cables

Functional Features Retains all standard functions of the 620-1690, including current limiting, debounce filtering and wire break diagnosis. Acrylic conformal coating forms an insulating barrier against condensation, salt spray and corrosive vapors. Terminal screws and gold-plated connector contacts remain uncoated, to maintain reliable electrical connection. Channel silk-screen labels remain legible through the thin transparent coating layer. Fully interchangeable with standard 620-1690, field wiring and configuration do not require modification during replacement.

Application Scenarios Offshore platform auxiliary control cabinet discrete signal collection Chemical plant corrosive atmosphere control room I/O expansion Underground mining process control signal input racks Coastal high salt-spray industrial control cabinets Harsh environment replacement for standard 620-1690 digital input units

Performance Parameters

  • Signal detection threshold matches standard 620-1690 specifications
  • Service life in salt spray environment is 3 times longer than the standard version
  • Coating insulation resistance: ≥10000 MΩ
  • Mold resistance: Compliant with GB/T 2423.16 long mold growth test standard
  • Installation interchangeability: 100% mechanical and electrical compatibility with standard 620-1690

Material Composition FR4 flame retardant multilayer PCB substrate Transparent acrylic conformal coating layer Tin-plated copper alloy screw terminals Metal film current limiting resistors, ceramic filter capacitors TVS transient suppression diodes Cold rolled steel mounting bracket

Structural Features Exact same mechanical dimensions and terminal layout as standard 620-1690. PCB traces and component leads fully covered by thin conformal coating, gold-plated connector contacts left exposed. Silk-screen channel labels remain visible through the transparent coating. Mounting hole positions identical to standard version, for direct drop-in replacement.

Working Principle Signal routing, filtering and surge protection logic is identical to the standard 620-1690. The conformal coating creates a continuous insulating barrier over PCB traces and component terminals, blocking moisture, salt particles and corrosive gas from forming leakage paths between adjacent circuits, preventing copper foil oxidation and electrochemical corrosion.

Installation Requirements Follow all wiring and installation requirements defined for the standard 620-1690. Avoid scratching the conformal coating surface during handling and installation. Do not apply additional paint or sealant to the module PCB after delivery. Inspect LED visibility before installation; minor coating opacity variation does not affect function.

Usage Notes Conformal coating improves environmental resistance but does not permit immersion in liquid. Scratches in the coating layer reduce corrosion protection performance, require board replacement. This coated version does not support component-level field repair after coating damage. Do not use solvent cleaners directly on the coated PCB surface.
