Material Composition High-temperature cast aluminum housing with cooling fins Ceramic insulated internal wiring High-temperature UV photosensitive tube Thick quartz glass window Stainless steel shutter mechanism High-temperature ceramic cable gland

Structural Features Finned cylindrical cast aluminum housing, designed for heat dissipation. Front thick quartz detection window. Rear high-temperature ceramic cable gland. 1 inch NPT mounting thread. Internal wiring uses ceramic standoffs instead of plastic parts.

Working Principle Flame ultraviolet radiation passes through the quartz window to the high-temperature rated UV photosensitive tube. The tube maintains stable conductivity across the full 0–125 °C temperature range, triggering the internal relay to output a flame present signal on UV exposure. The finned housing dissipates ambient heat away from the internal sensor, preventing component overheating. On flameout, UV signal disappears, the relay opens to trigger safety shutdown.

Installation Requirements Mount the detector with the finned side exposed to ambient air, do not enclose the fins. Maintain minimum 5 cm clearance around the fins for air circulation. Connect supply and output wiring using high-temperature rated cable. Verify detection stability during full operating temperature conditions.

Usage Notes Never paint the cooling fins, paint blocks heat dissipation and causes internal overheating. Do not mount the detector in a stagnant hot air pocket, this defeats fin cooling. Standard leads cannot be used at sustained temperatures above 100 °C, use high-temperature wire. Inspect internal ceramic standoffs annually for cracking from thermal cycling.
