Working Principle The C300 controller sends control setpoints through the C Series backplane to the CC-IP0101. The module packages the data into Profibus DP cyclic frames and transmits them to the addressed DP slaves. Measurements and status uploaded by slaves are received, verified and converted into backplane bus data for the controller. The diagnostic circuit monitors bus level and slave response and raises alarms when faults are detected.
Installation Requirements Install in the designated communication slot of the C Series I/O rack. Use purple Profibus DP shielded cable. Install terminator resistors only at the two physical ends of the DP segment. Ground the shield at cabinet single point. Route DP cable away from power cables. Cabinet grounding resistance ≤4Ω.
Usage Notes Set the GSD file revision in the engineering project to match the slave hardware. Do not connect high voltage signals to the Profibus port. Use repeaters when cable length exceeds specifications. Wear anti-static wrist strap during hot swap. Isolate the DP segment before troubleshooting bus short circuit.
