Structural Characteristics Standard METSO Damatic XD rack plug-in card dimension. Rear gold plated edge connector inserts into rack backplane bus. Front panel equipped with extraction lever and status LED window. PCB layout separates analog auxiliary circuit, digital logic circuit and communication circuit to reduce electromagnetic interference. Memory and core processor are placed in central PCB area with optimized thermal layout. All electronic circuits are protected by three-proof conformal coating.
Working Principle 02VA0153 obtains field measurement values from I/O modules through rack backplane bus. The processor executes preloaded control logic and computes output setpoints. It transmits control commands to corresponding I/O modules for field actuator regulation. The module continuously synchronizes all process data and logic state with redundant backup processor. Watchdog circuit monitors program running status. When hardware failure or communication interruption is detected, fault signal is triggered and displayed on front panel LED. All alarm and event data are uploaded to operator stations via Ethernet network.
Installation Requirements
- Insert 02VA0153 along rack guide slot, push fully until backplane connector fully engages, lock front extraction handle.
- Connect Ethernet communication cable to module front or rear network port, use shielded industrial Ethernet cable.
- Configure processor redundancy setting, scan cycle and network address in METSO engineering workstation.
- Complete power-up self-test and communication verification before loading control logic.
- Ensure cabinet protective grounding connection is reliable, grounding resistance less than 4 ohms.
- Keep cabinet air circulation unobstructed to maintain stable operating temperature.
Usage Precautions
- Do not touch gold plated edge connector pins by hand. Finger grease causes poor contact and communication failure.
- Download control program only after verifying hardware compatibility to avoid program crash.
- Redundant switchover test must be carried out during scheduled maintenance window.
- No field repairable components. Replace whole module once internal circuit fails.
- Prevent metal scraps falling into rack slot during installation.
- Avoid static discharge touching PCB circuit board when removing module from rack.
