Description
Metso A413147
Technical Specifications Dual communication ports; support standard industrial fieldbus protocols; galvanic isolation between communication ports and internal control bus; 24V DC power supply; rack plug-in structure; communication status indicator lamps.
Functional Features Acts as protocol conversion gateway between Metso DCS internal bus and external fieldbus. Transmits control commands from main controller to remote I/O stations. Uploads remote field measurement data and device status back to the main control rack. Supports redundant communication link configuration to improve system reliability. Detects communication interruption, frame error and bus failure and reports fault information to the system alarm manager.
Application Scenarios Remote I/O extension of mining and pulp DCS systems, interconnection between Metso controllers and third-party intelligent instruments, distributed process control network.
Performance Parameters Deterministic communication cycle; low data transmission delay; high error detection rate for communication frames; stable operation under strong industrial electromagnetic interference.
Material Composition Internal circuit board is FR-4 flame-retardant multilayer PCB; communication processor and transceiver chips are industrial wide-temperature components; port connector contacts are gold-plated; module housing is high-strength flame-retardant plastic.
Structural Characteristics Compact rack plug-in module; front panel equipped with two communication interface ports and link status LEDs; rear edge connector for connection with rack backplane; integrated elastic lock piece for slot fixing.
Working Principle The module receives control data and read commands from the main controller through the rack backplane bus. The processor converts data frames into the target external fieldbus protocol and sends data out through the external communication port. Data returned from remote field nodes is decoded and converted into internal bus protocol and forwarded to the main controller. Dual-port hardware monitors link quality and switches data transmission to the backup channel when the primary link fails.
Installation Requirements Cut off the rack power before installing the communication module. Insert the module into the specified slot and engage the locking mechanism. Connect fieldbus communication cables to front panel ports and follow bus terminal matching rules. Configure communication node address, baud rate and data mapping table in Metso system software.
Precautions for Use Use shielded communication cables meeting fieldbus specifications. Install terminal resistors at both ends of the bus trunk line. Do not exceed the maximum number of nodes and cable length defined by the bus protocol specification.
