Core components: 24-bit multi-channel ADC chip, precision voltage reference, IEPE current source circuit, anti-aliasing filter network, PCI communication controller. Mounting bracket: Steel full height PCI bracket. Connectors: Metal shielded BNC connectors with gold-plated contacts.
Structural Features: Standard full height PCI add-on card layout. Steel rear bracket equipped with four BNC input connectors. Internal circuit separated into PCI bus interface area, multi-channel analog front end area and ADC digital processing area. Independent analog filter and IEPE excitation circuit for each input channel. Carefully separated analog ground and digital ground to reduce digital noise coupling into measurement signal. Gold plated PCI edge connector to plug into PC PCI slot.
Working Principle: PCI-4462 is inserted into PCI slot and powered by PCI bus. NI-DAQmx driver initializes hardware. When IEPE accelerometer is connected to BNC port, onboard IEPE circuit supplies constant 4mA excitation current to power sensor. Vibration or acoustic analog signal enters analog front end circuit, passes through anti-aliasing filter before entering 24-bit ADC. ADC converts analog waveform to digital samples, which are transmitted to host PC memory via PCI bus. Host software performs frequency domain analysis, FFT calculation and waveform recording. Onboard self-calibration circuit adjusts gain and offset to maintain measurement accuracy.
Installation Requirements: Power off PC before installing PCI-4462 card. Insert card into empty PCI slot and fasten steel bracket screw. Install NI-DAQmx driver software and LabVIEW environment. Connect IEPE accelerometers or microphones via shielded BNC coaxial cables. Launch NI measurement and automation explorer, run hardware self-calibration and self-test. Set sampling rate, input range and IEPE excitation enable in measurement project. Ground PC chassis reliably. Use high quality low noise BNC cables for sensor connection.
Usage Notes: Run onboard self-calibration before every precision measurement campaign. Use shielded BNC coaxial cables for sensor wiring. Wear anti-static wristband when handling the PCI card. Do not apply voltage exceeding ±10V to BNC input ports. Backup measurement project before modifying sampling parameters. Do not operate card outside rated temperature and humidity range. Prevent dust accumulation on BNC connectors and PCI edge contacts.
