PROFIBUS connector: 9 pin D-sub metal shell connector. Backplane connector: Gold plated copper alloy contact pins.
Structural Features: Standard 1756 single-slot rectangular plug-in module. Front panel equipped with 9 pin D-sub PROFIBUS port, RJ45 Ethernet port and multi-group LED lights. Internal circuit divided into backplane interface unit, PROFIBUS protocol processing unit and Ethernet diagnostic unit. Mechanical locking buckle for fixing module in chassis slot. Built-in bus isolation circuit to reduce PROFIBUS bus interference.
Working Principle: The module is powered by ControlLogix chassis backplane, and acts as PROFIBUS DP-V1 master station on PROFIBUS field bus. It sends cyclic output data to each slave device and reads cyclic input data returned by slaves. It uses DP-V1 acyclic channel to read and write slave device parameters and diagnostic information. It maps PROFIBUS bus data to ControlLogix controller tags, and realizes parameter configuration and bus fault diagnosis through Ethernet port.
Installation Requirements: Power off ControlLogix chassis before inserting or removing module. Insert MVI56E-PDPMV1 into empty 1756 chassis slot and lock mechanical latch. Use standard PROFIBUS shielded twisted pair cable to connect D-sub port to field bus. Set PROFIBUS baud rate, slave station list and data mapping by configuration software. Ensure cabinet protective earth ground connection. Reserve air gap between adjacent modules for heat dissipation.
Usage Notes: Forbid hot swapping when chassis backplane is energized. Terminate PROFIBUS bus with matching terminal resistor at both bus ends. Backup module configuration file before modifying bus parameters. Use PROFIBUS certified shielded twisted pair cable for field bus wiring. Check bus terminal resistor and cable shielding regularly during maintenance. Wear anti-static wristband when touching circuit board.
